Place security front and center

Secure your ID card reader and/or keyboard to the device with an optional mounting bracket that secures cable connections and averts authentication bypass attempts. Prevent paper theft with built-in locks on the paper trays and stop users from using non-compatible paper stocks with a sealed bypass tray.

Collaborate in the cloud

Encourage students and instructors to share information digitally to enhance the learning experience. With the 220-sheet Single Pass Document Feeder (SPDF), users can scan up to 180 images per minute directly to their choice of cloud applications — including Blackboard^™ Learn* or Canvas^™ learning management systems (LMS)**. From there, any authorized user can access the documents from their desktop, smartphone or tablet.

Use a smartphone or tablet to capture files from any cloud application or LMS and print them on demand with the RICOH Smart Device Connector app. Simply use the Near Field Communication (NFC) tag, QR code or Bluetooth (BLE) to pair your mobile device to the MFP. Students and instructors can also scan documents from the MFP to their personal devices and keep digital files at their fingertips.

Monitor users and usage with User Authentication. Add optional tracking software, such as PaperCut^™ MF, Pharos^® and Equitrac^®, and assign chargebacks to faculty, departments and even directly to students. Integrate the chargeback data into your existing accounting system. Set print quotas for individuals or groups to curb excessive printing. Keep device acquisition costs lower with built-in PostScript^™ emulation.

The MP 4055SP TE offers incredible touchscreen convenience. Create iconic workflow shortcuts on the 10.1" Smart Operation Panel so users can perform frequently used tasks in fewer steps. Download workflow apps, such as how-to video tutorials, from the Ricoh Application Site or add optional workflow software to automate everyday processes.

Bring productivity to the people

Print black-and-white documents at up to 40 pages per minute (ppm). Send digital files instantly via Scan-to-Email, FTP, PDF, URL and more. Add paperless faxing to send and receive transcripts, contracts and forms right from your email. Store up to 3,000 files on the Document Server and add optional Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to expedite retrieval of PDF files on the Document Server by using keywords.

Present your work with confidence

Choose from five internal or external finishers, including a large 3,000-Sheet Stapler Finisher. Opt for the 1,000-Sheet Hybrid Staple + Stapleless Finisher to create document sets with or without staples, depending on the number of pages. Create booklets and hole punch document sets. You can even fold documents in-line with an optional Internal Multi-Fold Unit.

The MP 4055SP TE is ENERGY STAR^® certified, meets EPEAT^® Gold criteria and offers a low Typical Electricity Consumption value of only 1.6kWh/week.
